Abstract: Objective: To explore the current situation and its influencing factors of health-related hardiness in patients with diabetes. Methods: A total of 350 patients with type 2 diabetes were investigated using the general situation questionnaire, Health-related Hardiness Scale (HRHS), Self-Esteem Scale (SES), Brief Illness Perception Questionnaire (BIPQ) and Social Support Rating Scale (SSRS). Results: The health-related hardiness score of diabetes patients was 115.88±16.51. Multivariate linear regression analysis showed that family per capita monthly income, diabetes related complications, self-esteem, illness perception and social support could predict the level of health-related hardiness, which could predict 46.1% of the total variation. Conclusion: The health-related hardiness of patients with diabetes needs improvement. Medical staff should pay more attention to the patients with low family per capita monthly income and diabetes related complications, pay attention to improving patients' self-esteem and social support, and reduce patients' negative perception of illness, so as to improve their health-related hardiness.
