Study on psychological status of medical staff of the first group in the frontline during COVID-19 outbreak

Objective: To study the psychological profile of medical staff of the first group in the frontline during COVID-19 outbreak. Methods: The self-assessment scale for symptoms (SCL-90) was adopted to investigate the psychological profile to assess their mental health and find out the influencing factors. Results: A total of 141 valid questionnaires were collected, 53 workers (37.59%) of the first group in the frontline suffered psychological problems. Their scores of somatization factors and fear factors were both higher than the 2018 norms( P<0.05). Conclusion: Because some of the frontline medical workers have stress response, managers should concern humanity and offer psychological counseling, and allocate human resources scientifically and rationally to alleviate their psychological pressure.
