The psychological experience of female infertility patients:a meta-synthesis of qualitative studies

Objective: To systematically evaluate the qualitative studies on the psychological experience of female infertility patients,so as to provide a theoretical basis for better formulation of psychological intervention programs. Methods: Web of Science,PubMed, EMbase, The Cochrane Library, CNKI,Weipu, Wanfang and other databases were searched for qualitative studies on psychological experience in female infertility patients,and the retrieval period was from inception to December 2020. The Joanna Briggs Institute Critical Appraisal Tool for qualitative researches(2016) in Australia was used to evaluate quality of the studies. The results were integrated by a meta-synthesis method. Results: 9 studies were included in the final review. Totally 49 findings were extracted,6 new categories were generated,3 integrated results were synthesized.①Negative psychological problems in infertility patients, including negative emotional expression,source of psychological stress;②Positive psychological experience of infertility patients, including firm faith, reframe the future;③Psychological support needs of infertility patients, including support from spouses and relatives, social support, professional support. Conclusion: Medical staff should pay attention to the negative psychological problems and the positive psychological feelings of infertility patients.Through the construction and improvement of infertility patients social support system to meet their psychological support needs.
