Application of behavioral intervention follow-up program in patients with mild to moderate obstructive sleep apnea-hypopnea syndrome

Objective: To investigate the effect of behavioral nursing intervention on alleviating symptoms and quality of life of patients with obstructive sleep apnea-hypopnea syndrome(OSAHS). Methods: 101 patients with mild to moderate OSAHS in the respiratory department of a tertinary Class A hospital in Changsha were selected as the research subjects from January 2018 to April 2019. They were randomly divided into the control group(52 cases) and the intervention group (49 cases).The control group was followed up with conventional methods, and the intervention group was followed up with behavioral interventions.The monitoring parameters of sleep quality with polysomnography, the scores of daytime sleepiness scale and the scores of sleep apnea quality of life index(SAQLI) were compared between the two groups. Results: After intervention, the monitoring parameters of sleep quality with polysomnography,the improvement of snoring, daytime sleepiness and quality of life in intervention group were better than those of the control group( P<0.05). Conclusion: Behavioral nursing intervention can effectively improve sleep quality and life quality of patients with mild to moderate OSAHS.
