Objective: Based on BI information system, multi-departments cooperate to extract sensitive quality indicators for pediatric nursing and evaluate the application effects. Methods: The data extraction platform of sensitive quality indicators for pediatric nursing was established based on BI information system and the pediatric nursing quality indicators of hospital. Then, data information was extracted by multi-systems including BI information system, nursing personnel management system, infection management system, etc. Automatic acquisition and management of data were explored to the most extent and the application effects were discussed. Results: After applying the data collection model, the average monthly data collection time of nursing department decreased from (106.67±22.14) minutes to (45.41±4.31) minutes(
P<0.05), and the average monthly data submission time of the departments decreased from (11.22±1.65) minutes to (4.50±0.93) minutes (
P<0.05), meanwhile, the data underreporting rate decreased from 12.55% to 0.72%(
P<0.05), and the rate of false reporting decreased from 6.85% to 0.78%(
P<0.05). Conclusion: The establishment of sensitive quality indicators platform for pediatric nursing based on BI information system ensures the timeliness, integrity and accuracy of data extraction, saves data collection time and reduces labor cost, so as to promote accuracy of nursing management and continuous improvement of nursing quality effectively.
