Abstract: Objective: To identify evidence-based pressure injury prevention strategies for patients receiving prone position ventilation, and to assess their clinical outcomes. Methods: Guided by the "evidence-based continuous quality improvement model", evidence-based practice for pressure injury prevention in patients undergoing prone position ventilation was implemented from January to June 2023 following four stages, namely evidence acquisition, current status review, evidence introduction, and effect evaluation. Changes in nurses' compliance with audit indicators, the incidence of pressure injuries in patients undergoing prone position ventilation, and nurses' cognitive levels were assessed before and after evidence application. Results:A total of 26 pieces of evidence were finally included, and 20 audit indicators were developed. After the implementation of evidence-based practice, nurses' compliance with audit indicators and their knowledge and attitude levels related to pressure injury significantly improved (P<0.001). The incidence of pressure injuries in patients undergoing prone position ventilation decreased from 15.38% during the baseline audit to 6.67% (P< 0.05). Conclusion: Evidence-based practice measures can effectively improve nursing care quality for patients undergoing prone position ventilation, and enhance nurses' knowledge and attitudes regarding pressure injury.
