Qualitative research on the training experience of nursing assistants in unaccompanied hospitals

Objective: To understand the training experience of nursing assistants, so as to provide reference for building the training-level management system. Methods: The phenomenological research method in the qualitative research was adopted. 11 nursing assistants who had completed the training in an unaccompanied hospital were selected for in-depth interviews. Claizzi 7-step analysis method was used to analyze, sort and summarize the data. Results: 2 themes and 6 aspects were extracted from the inner feelings and personal experiences of the interviewees. Theme 1 was the dual experience of cognition and emotion, included 4 aspects,namely professional identity and self-affirmation, learning potential and fun, nursing safety awareness, knowledge and skills acquisition.Theme 2 was the overall impression of the training project, included 2 aspects, namely the practicality of the training content and the expectation of more diversified training forms. Conclusion: The training of nursing assistants is necessary to improve the overall quality of nursing assistants, and it is a guarantee for the unaccompanied hospitals to implement nursing services and meet the health care needs of patients.
