Objective: To systematically evaluate the clinical efficacy of sanfu-moxibustion in improving the symptoms of allergic rhinitis by evidence-based medicine.Methods: Using the computer to retrieve the Chinese biomedical literature database (CBM), CNKI, VIP database, Wanfang data, the Cochrane library, Medline, PubMed, all randomized controlled trials which were in accordance with the inclusion criteria about sanfu-moxibustion for allergic rhinitis were evaluated of quality according to the Cochrane reviews handbook 5.0, and were absolved in a meta-analysis by the review managers5.3. Results: A total of 4 studies were included and 500 patients were included. Meta analysis results showed that sanfu-moxibustion can improve the total effective rate of allergic rhinitis which was superior to western medicine group, the difference was statistically significant. Conclusion: Sanfu-moxibustion is a safe and effective treatment for allergic rhinitis. Because of less and poor quality research, the clinical efficacy and applicability need to be confirm by more high-quality randomized controlled trials.
