Abstract: Objective: To translate lung cancer awareness measure (Lung-CAM) into Chinese, and test its reliability and validity. Methods: The English version of Lung-CAM was translated, back-translated, cross-cultural debugging and pre-investigation to form the Chinese version of lung cancer awareness measure. The Chinese version of lung cancer awareness measure was used to investigate 143 cases of general population. Results: The Chinese Lung-CAM has 18 items. Three common factors were extracted through exploratory factor analysis. The cumulative variance contribution was 47.78 percent. Content validity index of items was 0.87~1.00 and the content validity index of the scale level was 0.960. Cronbach′s α coefficient of the total scale was 0.806. The Guttman half-fold coefficient of the warning signal knowledge dimension, risk factor dimension and early identification dimension were 0.856, 0.734 and 0.732, respectively. Conclusion: The Chinese version of lung cancer awareness measure has good reliability and validity, and can be used as a tool for screening lung cancer cognition in Chinese general population.
