Abstract: Objective: To investigate the current status of critical thinking in nutrition support nurses and analyze its influencing factors. Methods: A convenience sampling method was adopted to conduct a survey among nutrition support nurses certified by the Chinese Nursing Association across 29 provincial administrative regions in China between March 13, 2024 and March 21, 2024. Data were collected using a general information questionnaire and the simplified version of the Critical Thinking Scale. Results: The total critical thinking score of nutrition support nurses was 115.91±15.05. The results of multiple linear regression analysis showed that whether they had presided over or participated in research projects, whether they worked in a nutrition care clinic, and daily self-study time were important influencing factors of critical thinking in nutrition support nurses (P<0.05). Conclusion: The overall level of critical thinking among nutrition support nurses is relatively high. Therefore, nursing managers should adopt targeted strategies to further enhance the critical thinking ability of nutrition support nurses, including fostering a research-supportive environment, strengthening the development of specialized nutrition care clinics, and promoting self-directed learning among nursing staff.
