Abstract: Objective: To understand the current risk status of occupational lower back pain among ICU nurses, and to analyze the relationship between knowledge hiding, non compliant tasks, and the risk of lower back pain. Methods: Convenience sampling method was used to select intensive care unit nurses working in two tertiary grade A hospitals in Urumqi from March 17, 2024 to June 23, 2024 as the research subjects. The knowledge hiding scale, non compliant task scale, and nurse lower back pain prediction scale were used for investigation. Results: The knowledge hiding score of 324 ICU nurses was 24.00 (15.00, 30.00) points, the non compliant task score was 24.00 (15.00, 30.00) points, and the nurse's risk score for lower back pain was 113.08 (104.21, 133.97) points. The score of non compliant tasks was positively correlated with the score of knowledge hiding (P<0.001), and the score of knowledge hiding was positively correlated with the score of low back pain risk prediction (P<0.001). The mediating effect of knowledge hiding between non compliant tasks and the risk of lower back pain accounted for 53.49% of the total effect. Conclusion: Knowledge hiding behavior among ICU nurses is a mediating variable between non compliant tasks and the risk of lower back pain. Hospital managers should provide ICU nurses with physical and mental attention, reduce knowledge hiding behavior, enhance knowledge exchange and sharing, and reduce the risk of back pain while avoiding non compliant tasks.
