Abstract:

Objective: To assess and analyze the practice environment of clinical specialty nurses and analyze its influencing factors. Methods: A cross-sectional survey was conducted by the practice environment scale of the nursing work index (PES-NWI) in a hospital in Tianjin, and the influencing factors were analyzed. Results: The average score of PES-NWI of 281 clinical specialty nurses was (80.33±19.74). There were significant differences among the score of PES-NWI of different departments, ages, work years and technical titles (P<0.05). Multiple linear regression shoed that influencing factors of the score of PES-NWI with statistical significance were department and technical title. Conclusion: The clinical specialty nurse practice environment of this hospital was in a good state. The hospital had a better regulation, process and training system, and the participation in the hospital management need to improve. In addition, the clinical specialty nurse who was older, with longer working years, or with higher professional title, would have lower score of the PES-NWI. Nursing managers should improve their practice environment.
