Objective: To investigate the correlation of medical delay and family dynamics in patients with acute myocardial infarction, and provide the basis of intervention for patients with acute myocardial infarction treatment to avoid medical delay. Methods: 200 patients were investigated by questionnaire on medical care of patients with acute myocardial infarction and family dynamic rating scale (FAD). Results: The incidence of medical delay in patients with acute myocardial infarction was 68.50%;The shortest time of medical delay was 30 min, the longest was 3.2h, and the median time was 1.5 h;There were significant differences between the medical delay group and no medical delay group in problem solving, communication, character, emotional response, emotional involvement and overall functional scores(P<0.01);The scores of emotional involvement, total function, communication, problem solving and emotional response were positively correlated with the patient delay time excluding role and behavior control (P<0.05). Conclusion: Medical delay in patients with acute myocardial infarction is general. Emotional involvement, total function, communication, problem solving and emotional response are the factors affecting medical delay in patients with acute myocardial infarction.
