Abstract:

Objective: To explore the real experience of patients with lymphoma facing the death of patients in the same room with the same disease. Methods: Using phenomenological research methods in qualitative research, in-depth interviews with 15 lymphoma patients were conducted, and the subjects were summarized and refined. Results: Three themes were refined including complex emotional stress, death related nursing needs and death-related emotional coping styles such as positive coping (spiritual coping, self-compassion, seeking for psychological intervention, religious belief)and negative coping. Conclusion: Lymphoma patients have more complicated emotional reactions after experiencing the death of patients in the same room with the same disease, and they have more death related nursing needs and special coping strategies. Clinicians should help patients eliminate adverse stimuli in a timely manner, and can regularly carry out training on death knowledge. At the same time, we should correctly evaluate patients’ emotional coping styles to help patients achieve spiritual salvation.
