Objective: To explore the influence of psychological intervention on mental resilience, copying style and quality of life (QOL) in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). Methods: A total of 72 cases were collected and randomly divided into trial group (n=36) and control group (n=36). Cases in trial group received psychological intervention plus general nursing while cases in control group received general nursing only. Chinese version Connor-Davidson Resilience Scale, Medical Coping Modes Questionnaire and Diabetes Specific Quality of Life were used to evaluate the conditions of resilience, copying style and quality of life after 3 months. Results: Poor mental resilience was found before intervention in both groups. The patients in trial group had significantly higher levels of mental resilience, copying capacity and quality of life than control group 3 months after intervention. Conclusion: More attention should be paid on the mental resilience of T2DM patients and exploring feasible treatment to help them deal with events caused by the disease and get higher levels of quality of life.
