Abstract: Objective: To integrate qualitative research on healthcare professionals′ experiences with participating in advance care planning (ACP), and to provide evidence for the clinical implementation of ACP. Methods: The research questions，inclusion and exclusion criteria were constructed by PICoS model. Systematic searches were conducted in databases such as PubMed, Ovid, Embase, Medline, Web of Science, CNKI, Wanfang, VIP, and Sinomed, focusing on qualitative studies concerning healthcare professionals′ experiences with ACP. The retrieval time limit was from the establishment of the database to September 2023. The Joanna Briggs Institute′ s Qualitative Assessment and Review Instrument (2016) was used to evaluate the methodological quality of the studies, and Meta-aggregation was employed to synthesize the results. Results: A total of 16 articles were included, extracting 148 research findings, which were categorized into 12 categories and 3 main themes including challenges in the implementation of ACP, various factors influencing the implementation process of ACP, and perceptions of the benefits of ACP. Conclusion: ACP is a complex process influenced by various factors. It is recommended to continue efforts in improving the social support system for ACP, enhancing relevant training for healthcare professionals, increasing the preparedness and support levels of patients and their families, and establishing decision support systems through multidisciplinary collaboration.
